The AAF Committee was established by the Board of the AAF. Its functions are determined by the Board from time to time. They include advising and reporting to the Board on and executing on its behalf events and other initiatives. 



Gary Cheung, BAcc (Mon), CA

Gary is an independent business advisor to high net worth families and businesses providing advice in the areas of accounting, taxation, business advisory and family governance and succession.

He was formerly a partner at Deloitte Private and lead parter for Deloitte Chinese Services Group in Victoria with over 16 years experience. Having immigrated from Hong Kong at a young age, he understands the challenges faced by many in the Asian community. 

He is the past President of Hong Kong Australia Business Association (Victoria) Incorporated.

Mitos Gloudemans B.Com

Mitos is a Relationship Executive - Corporate Financial Services at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. She is responsible for managing a diversified portfolio of corporate clients with revenue generally in excess of $20M.

She is passionate customer service and takes great joy in helping her clients achieve their business goals.

Mitos holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Saint La Salle.

Karen Kong B.Com( Finance and Marketing) (Curtin University)

Karen is Head of Property Lending at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. She was formerly the Regional General Manager, Industry, with the Westpac Group.  She is an experienced finance professional with vast experience in all sectors of the banking industry from grassroots level to senior management. She oversees business strategy, develops external relationships to drive strategic customer outcomes and supports teams provide exceptional customer service.

She is co-chair the Asian Australian Foundation Women’s Chapter ‘The Gathering Circle’, and serves on the Empowered Women in Real Estate committee. She was previously on the Victorian committee of Business Chicks, a national network for women in business, and also served on the Starlight Children’s Foundation Victorian Committee, for its signature annual fund-raising event – “Five Chefs Gala Dinner”.

Noel Leung, BCom

Noel is an experienced business advisor, with over 15 years experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders, locally and globally.

She is currently a Partner at Strategic Project Partners (SPP), a boutique strategy consulting firm, with a portfolio of clients across multiple sectors including Higher Education & Research, Agribusiness, Consumer Goods and the Not for Profit sector.  Prior to SPP, she was a Director at KPMG Australia.

Noel was born in Hong Kong and raised in Australia.  Now raising children of her own, she is passionate about establishing a platform for leadership and contribution for future generations of Asian Australians, to promote social cohesion and inclusion.


Cheri Ong, LLM (Mon), BA, FSNV, GAICD  

Cheri is the Chair and Founder of the Asian Australian Foundation.

She is currently a Board member of the State Library of Victoria and a former member of the Governing Council of International House, University of Melbourne, where she was also the Chair of its Risk Committee.

Her previous board roles include being a board member and Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of Multicultural Arts Victoria and also a board member of InTouch. She was formerly Head of Regulation and Compliance of KPMG Australia and the Asia Pacific Chief Operating Officer for KPMG Risk Management.

She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


Kim Tran B.Com, LL.B (UoA)

Kim Tran is a pragmatic strategy leader with 13 years experience in strategy consulting across global, ASX-listed and private businesses, predominantly focusing on FMCG, energy and fintech. She is currently the Head of Strategy & Growth at Liuzzi Group, a diverse family organisation with interests across real estate, businesses and private investments.

Kim was formerly a Senior Strategy Manager with Monitor Deloitte, and has also spent time with MECCA Brands, KPMG Australia and BRS in strategy consulting and business development roles. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Corporate Finance) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide.


Christopher Kong B.Com, LLB (Melb)

Christopher Kong is passionate about helping professionals harness the potential of networking. He is the founder of Crouching Tiger Network which assists Australian organisations identify Asian-Australian leaders and is a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst. Christopher is also an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Business & Economics.

His career has spanned 19 years in the consumer goods industry, with leadership roles at Cadbury/Kraft, Nielsen and Danone. He has successfully led data-driven digital transformation to deliver tangible business outcomes through analytics.

In 2020, he was recognised as one of the 40 under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians. He was also presented with the Australia China Alumni Award for Corporate Achievement.
