As part of executing on the mission of AAF, we launched an exciting new initiative – The Gathering Circle.

This initiative gathers women, particularly Asian Australian women together, to share their resources, knowledge and experience in a way that focuses on leadership through giving for the benefit of the wider community.

It is about harnessing the desire, commitment and passion as women, to make a positive contribution.  It is “Women empowering Women through Giving”.

Our inaugural “Fashion for A Cause” Event

On 25 October 2017, we launched the Gathering Circle with a fabulous “Fashion for a Cause” event.

Likeminded women (and a few men!) especially from the Asian Australian community who love fashion gathered together in Melbourne to enjoy an evening of entertainment, featuring a fashion parade with edgy designs from up and coming young Australian designers, and bespoke Italian made hats.

This inaugural “Fashion For A Cause” fundraising event was held at The Gallery, 361 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, in a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere.  Guests had fun networking with plenty of canapés and drinks. All the proceeds from the auction items and a further contribution from AAF, went to PANDA - Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia.

Crazy Rich Asians fundraiser event

On 5 September 2018, we successfully held a fun night of networking by coming together to raise funds to support the work of PANDA.  Thanks to our supporters and friends for making this sellout event a most enjoyable night.

It was also great to hear from Asian Australian women in performance arts and film (Anna XiOlivia Cheung and Lydia Rui Huang) on the panel sharing their personal stories about diversity in the film industry prior to the movie being screened.

We acknowledge our sponsors JEANSWEST, THE SILCGROUP, and CHARTER KECK KRAMER for their generous support.
